Homeland Security

Securing our homeland against terrorist threat and attack presents an array of challenges for government at every level, as well as for business and private citizens.  Jefferson Government Relations, LLC (Jefferson) recognizes that our Nation’s complex Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was established very quickly in the wake of 9-11 and assembled from many entities accustomed to independence or as sub-parts of other departments.   Coupled with its behemoth size and reach, DHS presents a complicated maze to navigate as we attempt to assure the security and well being of all our citizens and guests.

At Jefferson, we have been part of the Homeland Security establishment for a long time, from well before 9-11 and through the present.  We have managed and interacted with the agencies and committees and personnel who now work to fund and insure the security of the Nation before they were united.   We are able to negotiate the complex web of bureaucracy, law and regulation to help meet the needs of communities across the country.   We can guide policy formulation to reflect the needs our clients have identified, potentially creating opportunities for our clients to provide services and products to help protect our nation.  Given the pressure of federal deficits and the continually increasing funding demands on the federal government, Jefferson’s ability to advocate for our clients’ funding needs is essential to compete successfully within the environment of growing homeland security costs and demands.  In addition, navigating the multi-level DHS grants process after funds have been appropriated involves additional roadblocks, figuratively, not found with other agencies.
