Jefferson's successes in this area include:

• On behalf of an association protecting the rights of private companies, Jefferson produced a Congressional hearing at which the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service clarified, on the record, that the government would not compete with the private sector in electronic preparation of tax forms and filing for tax payers.
  
• As the debate matures regarding privacy requirements on the Internet, Jefferson is leading a coalition of premier hospitality and travel companies in assuring that any legislation or regulation adopted provides appropriate safe harbors for sound practitioners.
