Tribal Governments

Jefferson Government Relations, LLC (Jefferson) has represented federally recognized Indian tribes from Florida to California. We are active participants in efforts to protect tribes' right to conduct gaming on Indian lands - a right that has come under attack by both commercial gaming interests and those who oppose gambling on moral grounds.

We assist tribes in securing annual, discretionary earmarks for tribal projects through the federal appropriations process. We have obtained tens of millions of dollars in funding for tribal government projects, including environmental restoration and water treatment rehabilitation, the planning and development of a reservation-wide transportation system and the renovation and construction of on-reservation school facilities.

At Jefferson, we work with the state delegations of the tribes we represent to provide members of Congress and their staffs with a familiarity and understanding of federal Indian law and other issues important to the tribes. By building relationships before a crisis occurs, we are able to call on our friends in Congress to help when problems arise.
