Carolyn M. Cuppernull
Principal
 Carolyn Cuppernull is a founding partner and Principal of Jefferson Government Relations, LLC (Jefferson). She serves as the Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary, where she manages the development and implementation of operating policies for the firm.
As CAO, Ms. Cuppernull participates in strategic planning sessions regarding the firm's long-term goals and building partnerships with other firms. Her daily responsibilities include managing the administrative functions of the company, including facilities maintenance, information technology, financial services, human resources, personnel and benefits administration, legal services, contracts administration, vendor relationships and a comprehensive tenant portfolio. Ms. Cuppernull also created and coordinates quarterly activities for JGR Cares, which is Jefferson's ongoing community service program.
Prior to forming Jefferson, Ms. Cuppernull was a founding partner and member of the board of directors for The Jefferson Group, Inc. She previously worked for Hill & Knowlton Public Affairs Worldwide, where she served as Director of Seminars for its Federal Markets Group. At Hill & Knowlton, Ms. Cuppernull served on account teams responsible for a variety of clients in the manufacturing, consumer products, services and travel industries.
Ms. Cuppernull earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Public Relations
from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She is a member of the Trustees Academy
of Ohio University. Ms. Cuppernull serves on the Insight Committee of the Communication
Department of George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. She is a professional
member of the Society of Human Resource Management; President of the Human Resource Association of the National
Capital Area and a charter member of the Washington, DC based, Leading Ladies®.
Ms. Cuppernull's philanthropic activities include leadership roles for activities
on behalf of and in support of The Angels Network, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
and the Children's Cancer Foundation.
