Hugh M. Douglass
Chief
Financial Officer
Mac Douglass is a Vice President and serves as the firm's Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. With nearly thirty years of experience in financial management and administration, mergers and acquisitions, development of software to proceduralize daily business processes and to integrate into financial accounting systems, Mr. Douglass provides strong financial and business guidance to the firm's business planning and to its overall financial success.
Mr. Douglass was the CFO of The Jefferson Group, Inc., the predecessor to Jefferson Government Relations, LLC (Jefferson). In the eight years prior to his tenure with TJG, Mr. Douglass was a Principal with both Business Computer Systems and Solutions Software Developers. In addition to providing the financial guidance to those two companies, he provided financial software consulting and financial guidance to many small and medium sized businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Earlier, Mr. Douglass was the Corporate Comptroller for the Convergent Dealership Systems/Display Data Corporation, providers of turnkey systems for automobile dealerships throughout the United States. He coordinated the financial logistics for the acquisition of the Display Data Corporation by Convergent Systems including the divestiture of its field engineering hardware service organization, the integration of Display Data's reporting systems into Convergent System's reporting systems, and the implementation of a corporate deferred compensation plan. Because of the complexities involved in integrating the two accounting systems, Mr. Douglass streamlined the accounting process by implementing upgraded accounting systems. His efforts proved effective in reducing duplications and errors in the accounting of the firm's holdings. These experiences have rolled over to Jefferson where he provides key developmental and implementation strategies for the Information Technology systems.
Additionally, Mr. Douglass spent several years with Corning Glass Works rising through the financial ranks of its Consumer Products Division.
Mr. Douglass is an alumnus of West Liberty State College in West Liberty, West Virginia where he received a B. S. degree in Business Administration and Accounting.
