Intern Program

Jefferson Government Relations offers an exceptional intern program for two or three students each semester on a year round basis. Jefferson is a bipartisan team of professionals who have worked in the White House and on Capitol Hill under both Republican and Democratic presidents and Congresses. Our clients include Fortune 500 corporations and small businesses, city and county governments, health care providers and insurers, coalitions, colleges and universities, Native American tribes and trade associations.

Interns will work closely with senior professionals on a wide variety of projects. Assigned tasks may include client and new business research, attending congressional hearings, writing summaries on various legislative initiatives and assisting with administrative and marketing support firm wide. Jefferson interns will be required to make a commitment of at least 32 hours per week, although flexible hours can be arranged. Our internship program is not paid, however we offer a transportation stipend to offset commuting expenses.

Intern candidates should possess an interest in one or more of the following areas: public policy, government, politics, regulatory policy, health care and education issues. All candidates will be considered, although a preference is given to political science majors in their junior or senior years in college.
